Road transportation of fuel, chemicals and food liquids is strictly regulated by the international ADR convention and the TS EN 13094 standard. The 'sloshing' forces created by the moving liquid momentarily change the vehicle's center of gravity, creating dangers such as rollover, skidding and extended braking distance. Our GRP tankers offer engineering solutions against these dynamic forces.

ADR legislation requires the use of breakwaters to restrict free surface movement within the tank. Filling rates between 20% and 80% are the range where the sloshing effect is most severe. The lightness of GRP provides 30-40% more load capacity than steel.

Technical Advantages

  • Baffle System: ADR obligation, perforated plates that divide the tank into compartments or brake the liquid flow, sloshing control.
  • Chassis Flexible Connection: Front connection with spring bolts or rubber mounts allows chassis torsion while protecting the tank.
  • Auxiliary Chassis: Substructure made of St 52 (S355) quality high-strength steel, which distributes the load homogeneously to the main chassis.
  • Rear Protection: Minimum 100 mm safety distance between the camber and the bumper, which prevents tank puncture in rear impact accidents.
  • Breather Valve: Safety valve that balances pressure changes and automatically closes in case of overturn.
  • Bottom Valve (2023+ Mandatory): Security system at the bottom of the tank, which stops leakage by closing from the inside in case of pipe breaks.
  • ADR Tank Code Compliance: Design compliant with codes such as L4BH (liquid, 4 bar, bottom filling, hermetic).
  • Ex-Proof Electrical: Spark-free electrical installation and chassis grounding in the transportation of flammable materials.
